Review of Still Alice (2014) by Michael K — 18 Mar 2015
Still Alice is directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland, and it is about a women who is diagnosed with Alzheimers. It focuses on her struggle to keep her intellect and her memories, and it also touches upon the impact it has on her family. Julianne Moore is brilliant and so are the supporting cast, but there are some minor issues I have with the movie. The pacing was a bit fast. At one time she was in her house and then the next she was at a holiday house. And you dont know how far in the future it is. And at sometimes it felt a bit like oscar bait. But overall it is shot really well and has a good soundtrack, the acting is superb and the movie is great.
8/10.
