Review of Still Alice (2014) by Rose L — 12 May 2015
I just watched this movie, this truth, of how it is for the patient and the family. Losing someone you love though they are seated right in front of you is so heart wrenching. You go through a mourning for that loss and another when they physically die.
I know. At 50 my husband, a brilliant, kind, loving, generous man, was diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia. Over a period of 6 years he slowly disappeared right in front of my eyes. Friends and family would call but could not stand to come see him as he slipped away.
He had me. If you want to live in a fantasy world , watch those movies/ But if you want to touch real life, feel real emotions, understand real pain, watch this wonderfully acted movie.
