Gillian Jacobs is clearly a talent in comedic drama but that is wasted entirely by this subpar script and plot, events seem to be thrown in without real reason or meaning. It attempts to echo the comedy of everyday life framed within a writer’s mid-life crisis, but it lacks a consistent realistic lead and ultimately falls flat.
It’s an awkward mess of film.
