Review of Still Alice (2014) by Simon T — 28 Aug 2015
The most impressive element of this film is Julianne Moore's spare and unsentimental performance. It anchors a slightly gloopy screenplay stuffed with foreshadowing. Alec Baldwin deserves credit too for not succumbing to Movie of the Week self-indulgence.
Minus points for some of the set-piece speeches, the clichà (C)d piano score and the abrupt ending.
