Review of Stigmata (2009) by Hans L — 01 Jul 2008
Formulaic horror/thriller has Patricia Arquette afflicted by stigmata as Gabriel Byrne tries to figure out what's going on. A good discourse based on the gnostic gospels and possibly the Dead Sea Scrolls challenging the authority of the Catholic church is let down by rudimentary writing and directing.
Billy Corgan's score is appropriately baroque if somewhat rubbish.
