Review of Stigmata (2009) by Marcus W — 25 Dec 2008
Maybe at the start of the film, if Arquette's character had greeted the Priest as thus it would have made a lot of difference:
"Hi Mr Priest, I'm not religious at all and so I don't know why this is happening to me, but funnily enough I did just get sent a rosary and chain by my Mum who was abroad, and everything's been weird since then. You don't think the two are connected do you?".
Sadly, this never happens and instead the film stumbles predictably on as we wait for the characters to catch up with what the audience know. Though, I did like how this film sneaks in an intelligent alternative to The Church.
And the soundtrack was godawful.
