Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Aaron M — 20 Dec 2015
I both love this film and I hate it. Most of the third act is totally fucked up, at least structurally. Sorkin is preoccupied with writing his heavy, witty dialogues (with references to a plethora of pop culture phenomena; Steve calling Joanna Yentl was really funny though) and he fails miserably at structure and creating a coherent story.
The direction is mostly intelligent, rhythmic and voiceless and Fassbender really enjoys himself. But somehow the whole mess just made sense to me in the final two acts. And yes, it moved me. It was great fun, as uneven as it was.
I would love to see it again.
