Fassbender dominates this film in the way that Jobs dominated Apple. This is his movie and he knows it. His virtuoso performance isn't about doing an impression of Jobs but instead it's about giving us a sense of who Jobs was and what motivated some of his decisions.
The movies streamlined focus, on product launches and some of his key relationships, works much better than the typical screen bio focus on birth to death. It reminds you of a stage play adapted for the screen as most of the "action" takes place in a single recurring venue (backstage at a product launch).
