Review of Steve Jobs (2015) by Daniel W — 25 Feb 2016
We have 3 competing large creative forces in this film. Danny Boyles directing, Aaron sorkins writing and Michael Fassbenders acting. I think Sorkins writing takes center stage in a script thats dialogue driven and without much room for creative directing.
Similar to last years "fruitvalle station" we see a biopic condensed into a smaller time frame then a whole life, in this case before three important trade shows. The tension is always high before a show like this and that raises the feeling of immediacy of this film to an exhausting (in an enjoyable way) level.
If it wasn't for the high level of acting and directing going on it would be hard to imagine this dialogue being pulled off. This is not any of these three creative forces best artistic efforts but with a pedigree so impressive that is hardily and insult.
