Review of Stepfather 2 (1989) by Jason Y — 10 Nov 2010
In our surprising fury of like-age for The Stepfather, Megster and I decided to sequel it up with Stepfather 2...
Stepfather 2 - Make Room For Daddy (Burr, 1989) - **1/2.
Where the original in the Stepfather trilogy was careful in its cinematography, this first sequel is aware of its cross-cutting. Terry O'Quinn delivers another fine performance as "The Stepfather" in search of a family that won't disappoint him. Starring alongside O'Quinn is a very young Jonathan Brandis (Ladybugs and TV's SeaQuest) who sadly took his own life in November of 2003. While this film is essentially the same as the original, it does offer a great ending sequence. It is a darkly comedic sequence where the bride, covered in blood, walks to the altar to the wedding march ("here comes the bride..."). Can't wait for Stepfather 3 - Father's Day...
