Review of Step Up Revolution (2012) by Chris D — 12 May 2014

Okay ... there's absolutely nothing new about this film. There isn't anything particularly clever about it either. It's a very standard example of the "newcomer learns about something from somebody experienced" genre that has been applied to almost every subculture you can imagine .

.. disco, car racing, roller skating, surfing, skateboarding, punk rock, kickboxing, break dancing ... and so on and son on. The thing is ... this is cinematic comfort food, and it was just fine as that.

I enjoyed it, although I can't particularly recommend it.
