Review of Step Up 2: The Streets (2008) by Jessa . — 07 May 2010
Kind of cheesy and predictable, but awesome dancing. Overall glad I saw it. Made me want to dance (which isn't hard to do). I was pleased to see that Andy didn't get back with or make up with her old crew, which would've been even more cheesy and predictable.
I felt a little cheated when Andy and the blond dude were suddenly "okay again" and Sophie was suddenly on their side, with nothing to really motivate these actions (especially the latter) but it's not as though I expected or needed great character development or plot continuity.
Good music, and the final dance scene was cool with the water element incorporated into it. Makes me wonder what the first movie was like. All in all, not a lot of cinematic "merit" but that should be obvious to the viewer ahead of time.
Worth watching.
