Review of Steep (2007) by Brendan N — 23 Mar 2008
Exhilarating look at BIG mountain/extreme skiing through the eyes of its pioneers. The film is more serene than the hyper-kinetic style of Dogtown and Z-Boys. Yet Steep succeeds similarly in what made Dogtown great -- you walk away with insight and history into the mindset of pursing your passion to the edge of life.
When other great skiers looked at Chamonix, in the French Alps, and asked WHY anyone would dare ski there, the guys in Steep just said WHY NOT!
