Review of Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928) by Cheri D — 19 Mar 2008
Matt and I had the pleasure of seeing this one on the big screen at The Silent Movie Theatre in Hollywood a few years back. Silent movies are funny to look back on now. Folks often find it hard to take the overblown histrionics.
I was really blown away, though, by how well Keaton could convey thought and emotion through subtle facial expressions and gestures. And his comic timing (!) and physical feats (!) - amazing. Buster Keaton really was a marvel, and this movie is a favorite.
