Review of Stealing Beauty (2007) by Laura L — 28 Apr 2005

I tried to rent Stealing Beauty several times and it was always messed up. This time I got a DVD, and that was also messed up. Some horndog must have watched the Liv tyler sex scene 500 times because that part was so messed up, it pretty much skipped to the end credits. Anyway the movie is not what I expected. I thought it was going to be some delightful movie where Liv Tyler goes to italy to fall in love and wacky hijinx would insue. Instead it starts with her on the plane, then on a train where some pervert films her crotch while she sleeps. (complete with drool) And well that really sets the tone. She gets to Tuscany, and hangs out with a bizarre group of people. A naked Rachel Weisz, an artist and his wife, and some other odd characters. Most of which are obsessed with sex. They really made everyone in italy seem like sex maniacs. The guy Liv Tyler likes has his way with several girls. He is repulsive to me, and I couldn't see what she saw in him. His cute friend I liked much more, but I assumed he was gay. hehe. He wasn't, it turns out he had the hots for Liv.

I'm trying to think of things I liked about it, but I can only think of scenes that I hated. Was it really necessary for some drunk lady to pee in the hallway of this beautiful villa? or for us to see Rachel Weisz' pubes? Or for Liv to lick this mirror 3 times? God or the terrible poems!!! *groan* Ok this movie is bad.
