Review of Stay (2005) by Carl R — 12 Mar 2008
This movie was absolutely amazing. I'm not going to lie though, I had to watch it twice to fully understand it. But it is a beautiful movie. The lighting, the camera angles, everything combine to make it an artistic masterpiece.
The story is captivating. Pay attention to stairwells. They are really well done in this movie. I can't really explain it, you just have to see it to understand. One of the best things about this movie is the voices of the actors.
Whether it was on purpose, or on accident, their voices work so well with the tone of the movie. I never understood the significance of voices in a movie, but the voices were AMAZING in this movie. I don't just mean the main actors and actresses either.
Even those in very minor rolls had significant voices. It is so hard to explain the power that their voices give to the words. You really do just have to watch it. It is BEAUTIFUL. I cried both times I watched it.
