Review of State and Main (2000) by David H — 01 Oct 2007
3:10 to Yuma - Wow, a lot better than I expected. Russell Crowe and Christain Bale are great playing off each other.
State and Main - A cynical and funny look at the film industry.
The Brave One - I just had to watch it because I saw the Kevin Bacon version of this. Jodie Foster's version is much better. The characters are better acted, more developed, and more sympathetic. The Kevin Bacon version is just an odd mix - an action movie filmed like a horror.
.
In the Valley of Elah - Leisurely paced, but still involving. People who come back from wars are usually pretty psychologically damaged. Yeah, nothing new, but it's a good mystery movie.
Balls of Fury - The funniest scenes are all in the trailer. Good to see Jason Scott Lee in a mainstream again, even though it's a limited role.
