The drama and comedy here just aren't that strong. The director does his best to pull the set-pieces off with some spark but they're just not strong enough and you're left feeling quite flat.
Dominic Cooper is great as he was in The History Boys, McAvoy is average with his strange upper lip and Alice Eve is very attractive.
It's OK.
