Review of Starship Troopers: Invasion (2012) by Cameron A — 25 Oct 2012
I like Sci-fi action movies, and nothing can get as sci-fi action as these Starship Trooper movies. Unlike the first Starship Trooper movie a decade or so ago, this one is using CGI, and while it is top notch, it still falls a bit short in terms of showing the expression of the faces as compared to, say, "Beowulf". The ships, suits, etc. and everything else is quite gorgeous, though.
It does have some continuity to the first, live action Starship Trooper movie as some of the main characters there figure prominently in this movie, although they have now moved on to much higher ranks. The action is pretty intense, and there are some nice, effective twists in the plot also. It is a bit predictable, but there are enough twists to keep you a bit off balance at times.
Characterization and dialogue are a mediocre, though. What makes this movie unique compared to other CGI movies of late are the breasts and butt exposures, which are quite considerable. Perfect breasts and butts as only computer generated images can muster. I am sure the Anime fans would love this one.
Nothing particularly special, but good enough to watch for entertainment purposes.
