Review of Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (2004) by Ted S — 07 Jun 2008
Blatantly low budget compared to its predecessor, but it works because it is just as cheesy as the first movie and even lower budget. A bit of blood and guts never goes amiss though, but this films delivers the cheap thrills you expect from a straight to DVD release and never let?s up the pace until the end.
Sure, it?s cheesy, but it?s what makes the Starship Troopers franchise so successful. It doesn?t have to be deep and meaningful, as even shallow people will enjoy the blood and explosions on offer that this film offers.
To be honest, it has pretty convincing special effects and storyline considering its budget was that of a small comedy series.
