Review of Starship Troopers (1997) by Kristen W — 20 Dec 2010
This kind of overly earnest gung-ho war film might be ludicrous in anyone else's hands, but everything Verhoeven touches has a cheesy glee to it. There's a real retro feel to all of this and the monster designs have an early Marvel Comics feel that I loved.
The acting is not worth mentioning, except insofar as the actors efficiently echo lines late in the film that they dutifully received in previous scenes.
