Review of Starship Troopers (1997) by Jacob F — 28 May 2011
Starship Troopers, to me, is a flawed but entertainingly campy sci-fi action film. The flaws include bad acting and some overly silly characters and scenes. But looking past those aspects, there is plenty of action and spectacle to behold.
The visual effects are impressive and there are moments of clever satire. One of the things I really enjoy is those commercials that reflect the futuristic culture of the film including the military. Overall, I consider Starship Troopers to be an entertaining gore-fest from Paul Verhoeven.
