Review of Starry Eyes (2014) by Andrew R — 22 May 2015
I saw this film because author Chuck Palahniuk helped this film get made and because it had decent reviews. This low-budget horror film does the best with what it's got; even though it doesn't have a great cast, I thought all the actors did a decent job, especially the lead, Alex Essoe.
The film didn't have a tremendously original script, but the film's suspense and tension along with a creepy soundtrack made the film seem better than it truly was. Overall, even though I was a little bored at times and the ending got a little ridiculous, I thought the filmmakers and actors did a good job and would have liked to see this film with a bigger budget and a few rewrites on the script, where it could have been a better film.
