Review of Starred Up (2014) by Sabena A — 23 Mar 2014
Uncomprimising, excessively violent yet with an underbelly of a simple father and son reunion story at its heart starred up is one of the most incredible films one will ever see. Performances are first rate and potentially oscar worthy for next year.
It is also a rather funny film with a lot to say about its subject but without preaching it. Like the 1979 film "scum" its not afraid to shock and disturb. Wonderful.
