Raw and gritty, Starred Up is an explosive British prison drama with phenomenal performances from Jack O'Connell and Ben Mendelsohn. The slang makes it hard to understand the characters sometimes, but its that and the voyeuristic camera that makes everything so realistic and absorbing.
Violent, but also emotional, Starred Up is an inside look at the damaged and criminal types who are locked away.
