Review of Starman (1984) by Joel D — 01 Nov 2008
"Love is, um, it's when you care more for someone else than you do yourself. " Not essentially one of Carpenter's best films (The Thing and Halloween come to mind) Starman is actually quite a break from his usual horror fest.
A more calm and fantastic look at lose and life. It was like E.T. meets Ghost. Jeff Bridges is amazing, couldn't believe how great he was. After this Carpenter went down hill, hopefully one day he'll come back but until then we still got around 4 or 5 movies that are great, and this is one of them.
