Review of Starman (1984) by Craig F — 27 Oct 2014
Starman is one of John Carpenter's smallest movies, but it's still a great film that surprisingly did not remind me of ET. It gives off some great effects even though they barely show us that. The plot is your usual road trip movie, but add an alien as a twist towards the genre, which means there's going to be some predictable stuff in it.
The chemistry between the two leads are really good and one of the main strengths of the film. It also gives off some humor in it which are really funny. It gives in some heavy drama in it which is really effective.
From a critic I read from, Starman really is a romance film in disguise with drama scenes mixed in with some sweet moments.
