While the movie is good in message and tone it lacks a lot of depth and character development besides that of one character. I did enjoy the movie but it seemed to have many plot holes such as at the end of the movie when Stargirl moved away and acts like her and Leo cannot communicate anymore with him even though earlier in the movie she is shown to have a phone and Leo’s number.
The plot also tries to stay true to the book but while trying to spice it up ends up just making it more stereotypical. Overall I enjoyed the movie but think that if Disney has just stuck to the book a little closer it would have turned out a lot better.
