Review of Stargate (1994) by Buddy A — 03 Sep 2012
Better than expected sci-fi adventure that mixed aliens into our history in really neat way. Solid action scenes and an incredible, rousing score by David Arnold are great on their own. It's all made much better thanks to the quirky nature of Spader's performance as Daniel Jackson and the sarcastic humor that develops in Russell's reading of O'Neil (this is the one with only one "l").
The TV series that followed (SG-1) had a lot of great stuff going for it in its decade-long run, a great testament to the potential of the Stargate concept. Great flick, check it out if you haven't yet.
