Review of Stargate (1994) by Mark R — 10 Oct 2013
I'm surprised that this movie divided the critics, who seem to have gone all po-faced about a fairly good sci-fi movie. It is great fun, and set on an epic scale with good special effects. The acting is a little low key, and somehow I think the sound levels could have been better in places (might be due to Netflix). This movie, whether intentionally or not, was effectively the pilot for a TV series that has run in various forms for nearly 2 decades, so it obviously has a firm cult following.
In short break out the popcorn, sit back, park brain in neutral and enjoy.
