Review of Stargate (1994) by Devon S — 25 Oct 2013
I can't believe this has a Tomatometer rating of 48% (at this time). This was one of my favorite movies growing up and when I saw that I just had to watch it again. No, it's not a perfect film and it is filled with a number of film cliche's but it doesn't dwell in the standard narrative.
Of course, there are a lot of questions and elements that come up when viewing this from a non-juvenile mind but they don't take you out of the movie. If you're looking for a fun, space romp with interesting characters then this is a great movie to check out.
When I was a kid it was the perfect mix of two of my favorite things: science fiction and ancient Egypt. Today it still fills that niche.
