Review of Stardust Memories (1980) by Curtis P — 04 Jan 2009
I had heard that this was the Woody Allen pic that divides everyone, and now I see why. He says it isn't autobiographical, but it works best at the times that you think that it is (the references to liking his previous films "You know, the funny ones"; his skewering of celebrity culture, etc).
I kind of felt that the relationship stories actually distracted from the movie, which is an odd dynamic for a Woody Allen flick.
