Review of Star Wars (1977) by Erick F — 27 Dec 2015

I'm rewatching all the Star Wars movies to get me in the right mode for the new one. I want to be honest. If the cinematography in this wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be, I probably wouldn't have given it a 80% rating.

But, wow, some of the shots in this really did surprise me. I wanted to screenshot some of them, and just save them for letter for reference. The story is what it is, nothing to write home about, but what is fun is the general creativity of this universe.

I can see why people get so into it. Overall though, the combination of great cinematography, basic storytelling, and great imagination gives this movie a solid B to me. Good Concept, Solid Execution.
