Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by Stu A — 10 May 2009
A cold war allegory plays out between the Federation and the Klingons. Peace with the Klingons becomes possible, but a conspiracy plot frames Kirk and McCoy for the murder of the Klingon chancellor.
The mystery elements are well-done, as is the tension of the political intrigue. This was announced as the last of the films with the original cast, and wisely, this is effectively part of the plot (as was the aging in Star Trek II).
