Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by Phillip K — 10 Jul 2009

This is one of the really good ones. The familiar faces, the chemistry between characters, the humour - it should be a bit tired, but actually it's just too well done for that. William Shatner, who some might deem a little long in the tooth for some of the action sequences in this film, acquits himself admirably, and there are moments of endearing self-parody about his performance; this was the last of the Classic Trek movies, and for that alone it's a favourite - but it's also a great rollicking Trek adventure of the boldly goingest kind, deftly handled by a bunch of seasoned pros comfortable in their characters and in each other's company, and it's a joy to watch.
