Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by Ian R — 12 Feb 2013
I thought this movie was tremendous. It is definitely one of the best of the Star Trek movies featuring the original cast. I thought the story and premise were very interesting, with the hostilities between the Federation and the Klingons ending, and how such a peace would make an uncertain future.
And I think this story was pulled off excellently. I greatly enjoyed seeing how all the characters' different reactions and how things played out. Kirk having to accept peace with the enemy he's fought his whole career (which is coming to a close, another interesting portion of the film), the enemy that killed his son.
And then he has to fight for that peace! I thought it was so good. This was a truly great send off for the original cast of Star Trek and I'm glad they could go out on such a high note.
