Review of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) by Ben M — 15 Dec 2012
Wah Wah Wah. This movie is good! The main complaints I see on here is that the story is bad... which isn't very specific. The story is interesting! The plot is reminiscent of an old Star Trek episode except now with updated effects.
And no, the fx were not great, but they got the gob done for a lower budget 80s sci fi movie. It was interesting to see Shatner direct, although I got the feeling that he was biased towards his characters one liners and screen time.
I'm not complaining because I think William Shatner is awesome, but that was one thing that I noticed. And I can see why hardcore religious people would be offended by the plot, but you gotta remember this is a science fiction movie.
The movie isn't saying you should believe something over the other, its just telling a story.
