Review of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) by I Don't Know W — 28 Jun 2011
I kinda get why people bag on this movie, but I really enjoyed it. Out of all the movies, this one has the most focus on the chemistry between Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. Seeing a Vulcan who embraces emotions was pretty intriguing.
Boring at some parts, silly moments and stunts (even for Star Trek), and laughably bad special affects for the time. Confusing motivation for the villain; how did Sybok know about the center of the universe? What was he trying to do? Where did his powers come from? Even if you don't like it, it's always still worth checking out.
