Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Marylew B — 29 May 2009
More like Star Trek: The Motion Boredom. An hour of watching the Enterprise make its way through a giant cloud was not a lot of fun. Boring, Boring, Boring. You'll be lucky to make it an hour.
If you do make it through that hour though, you'll find some interesting philosophical tidbits. Concepts such as the nature of an artificial intelligence, the idea of man and machine merging, and speculation on what lays beyond our perceptions. Yeah, they're interesting concepts, but they're presented in a profoundly boring way.
