Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Steven P — 25 Nov 2009
This was the first Star Trek movie I watched upon hearing of J.J. Abrams' reboot. Unfortunately, the writers went with a plotline about a machine planet deity that was more Deep Space Nine than TOS.
My own mother saw this in the theater and said she didn't remember it being so boring when Netflix delivered it. However, the film has plenty of interesting moments and visual splendor to make it entertaining for Trekkies and watchable for everyone else.
