Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Ken A — 28 Dec 2010
The start of Star Trekâ(TM)s foray into the world of cinema gets off to a slightly jilted uncomfortable start with Decker and Kirk vying for the Captaincy of the Enterprise. This friction causes a change in dynamic on the Enterprisesâ(TM) bridge maintained throughout the piece.
The unfamiliar new uniforms of the Enterprise crew are also an unwelcome departure from those of the original television series. However, most of which caused the television series to be popular remains extant: Kirkâ(TM)s genius, Spockâ(TM)s weirdness, McCoyâ(TM)s McCoyness.
A good if not stunning entrà (C)e to the big screen which has, in the most part, stood the test of time â" âThe Human Adventure Is Just Beginningâ?.
