Review of Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) by Sam B — 14 Feb 2009

This is an under-rated film. The character conflicts are superb for one thing. The relationship between Picard and Shinzon is very interesting. Shinzon is a clone of Picard, but has led a different life, so Picard is left to wonder whether he himself could have turned out like Shinzon, but Data says that he wouldn't have, because he has lived a completely different life.

The fact that Data has told Picard this suggests that Data has finally learnt what it is to be human, and with no mention of the emotion chip, it suggests that Data has reached a new height in his search for humanity.

These character moments prove that Nemesis is a well written film.
