As a long time Trek fan I thought it was simply fantastic. When I heard they were retelling the story from the beginning, with all new actors portraying the original cast I was very skeptical. For loyal Star Trek fans, these were some VERY big shoes to fill.
Having said that, I think they nailed the casting perfectly. I wouldn't have believed it posible. I'm not gonna go into a long winded cretique of the movies finer points. I don't agree with everything J.
J. Abrams did in the movie, especially the destruction of a certain planet. while I applaud Mr. Abrams fresh take on the whole thing, but IMHO this was going too far (and the loss of one star). All in all however, this is not enough to prevent me from highly recommending this movie to anyone, despecially Trek fans.
It's not to be missed,.
