Review of Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) by Ohsnappage . — 03 Jan 2014
(Yaaaawn).... a story thats predictably drawn out... boring, and cheesy. This story exudes cliche'. The main villain may as well have been written for Dr.Evil, but got mis casted by an actor doing it with a more serious tone.
I haven't witnessed a more poorly executed character, plotting villainous scheming scenarios with every undermining loophole escape strategy, than a 1960's Batman tv series (the entire series mind you).
The directing was an improvement, as was the editing, special effects, and sets. Despite an entertaining 10min opening the story quickly turns to garbage. The introduction of yet another new bad guy species is clumsy and unimaginative with bad costumes and laughable appearances.
The films story is pure laziness. Romulans using sailing jargon/terminology ? A dune buggy chase by mad max like aliens that cannot shoot the floor if they tried? Riker getting slashed on the arm, squeals like a lil girl, & throws decades of hardcore star fleet officer character persona down the tube much faster than the way he clumsily slid down the tube in this film.
If this is the continued direction of the TNGStarTrek franchise is headed, its not worth paying to see them.
