Review of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) by Glenn L — 08 Jan 2010
It really is a delightful film and the initial premise was just plain bonkers: a colossal tube-ship from galaxies away comes to Earth just to say hi to some humpback whales? Craazzy. The scene where the Klingon Bird of Prey flies underneath the Golden Gate Bridge is awesome.
I also like the fact that, after the loss of his Starship and the death of his son, James Kirk is just hangin' out-having a beer with some chick in 1980s San Francisco-trying to get laid. Good ol' Kirk.
