Review of Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) by Twins S — 30 Jul 2014
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.
The new franchise is not too bad...and the new 'Star Trek into Darkness' does not fail to entertain and to thrill new audience.
It is a great adventure movie, with a memorable opening and a memorable villain...the infamous KHAN!!!
In a way, this is a remake of many Star Trek movies. For those who know the original movie series will definitely see how J.J. Abrams pays homage to some unforgettable dialogues of the previews original series by remaking literally upside down those timeless moments.
Even though all the characters are well known and clichéd from the original saga, the film is very absorbing interspersed with light-fun moments.
It is a new generation franchise that aims to a more action and CGI spectacle, rather than the thoughtful and nuanced way that the Original series woven into its philosophical and sociological commentary.
That said, the new 'Star Trek into Darkness' adventure is fun to watch..unless you really hate lens flares.
