STID Started off as a great story about Kirk & crew going up against corruption within Startfleet and braving the Klingon homeworld to apprehend a terrifying rogue Section 31 agent. Then, two thirds of the way through, they decided for some strange reason to throw that promising story away and turn it into a (not very good) remake of TWOK.
This would have been a great movie if they'd just continued doing what they were doing in the first half. Shame.
