Review of Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) by Victor Ariel V — 21 Aug 2015
Love, fear, motivation, friendship, corruption and many other feelings are the main substances that built up this movie. This is a perfect blockbuster action film, because it´s base is not just to give a fun experience but to express Ideals and important moral human relationships and develop them under a series of events that take those feelings into actions, in this case the importance of ´´Feelings´´; we even get to care and understand the villains (khan) actions and also know the importance of his cause being necessary as a natural response to the savage nature of today´s universe.
This is a movie for everyone ´´fans and moviegoers alike´´ and just as the first film did we still see the complications that a friendship between characters like Spock and captain Kirk will have as a natural progressive stage, and this more realistic tone is what separates just a fun film from a fun and important film with messages for life.
Another great thing about this film is that every action scene is justified (meaning that action is not there just for the sake to be there but that it is a series of events that matters and are significant to the story) also the visual quality of it is spectacular.
The fast paced structure of the film is well executed and easy to follow. Although, the story itself acts like a gigantic Macguffin to justified the events occurring on the movie, I don´t consider this to be insulting towards general audiences or detracting the quality of the movie because, yet again, it´s purpose to entertain us and develop the core of its characters is not damaged, but I do understand why this lack of storytelling will bugged some people.
Overall it is a fantastic film and a perfect action movie.
