Review of Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) by Russell S — 22 Aug 2018

There are parts of this movie that are well done and also parts that completely suck energy out of the viewer. The good: action, special effects, themes of corrupted over-reaching authority, and Vulcan word play.

The bad: over-dramatization of the big baddy's reveal, a clear attempt to sell some sex, totally cheesy misuse of an adjusted rehashed scene that we know won't stick somehow. A pretty good movie, but it seems clear that some cracks are starting to show in this series based on this presentation.
