Review of Star Trek: Insurrection (1998) by Jason H — 03 Sep 2012
Not the best, but it was good enough to watch again.
It seems to me like every Trek movie after this one (including this one) just started making two-part TV episodes into movies, and while that might make for fine T.V., it just doesn't work as well in the movies. As usual, Patrick Stewart is brilliant, but most of the rest of the acting is just o.k.
By their very nature, movies can't be part of a episodic universe, like T.V. is. Movies need to be one-off creations, and that's part of what made movies like Wrath of Khan and First Contact so good.
Overall, ok... middle of the road for a Trek movie.
